Shortcuts - Part 3

Can you believe that we are STILL discussing shortcuts from that one little "drop" of the milk into the refrigerator shelf? Part 3 of the shortcut story brings the point home even more! You see our shortcut might be really quick and seem like no big deal; however, the process and developments of trying to "fix" the damage from the shortcut seems to take MUCH longer itself!
Who would have thought that a broken frig shelf could have soooo much to learn from???
Husband: Excitedly states "Honey the frig shelf is here."
Wife: "That's good."
Husband: "Awe man, you got to be kidding me!"
Wife: "What's wrong in there?"
Husband: "The shelf is broke! They did not package it very well."
Wife: Grabs camera yet again and starts taking more pictures 
As you can see, the shelf had a whole piece broke off of it and cracked straight down the bottom.
The packaging company was "brilliant." They put a "plastic" shelf in a brown box and shipped through Amazon Prime and could not "foresee" any potential damage with that? There was NO padding, bubble wrap or anything???
This is how our relationships can end up cracked and broken as well.
1) What are we made of? Plastic or some more durable substance? Perhaps like a ROCK! Jesus is the Rock and He is truly a SOLID foundation for a relationship!
2) Are we covered with bubble wrap or any form of padding? The Holy Spirit is a GREAT covering! He is our Teacher, our Comforter, our Helper, our ever present help in time of need!
3) In John 16:33, it states, "I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world." NLT
The question is not IF we may endure some form of pain or damage. The Word is clear...we WILL! The question is have we prepared and equipped our relationships for such? We definitely can and should be pro-active and "Anchor our Relationship" to help weather the storms!
As of now, we do not see a Part 4 of this story, but if one arises, we will definitely share!

We love our manger scene we display at Christmas. Each year as we unwrap it, we actually think about that night that Jesus was born. Of course, there is much emphasis on Mary, the mother of Jesus. She was a chosen virgin to carry the son of God and she did so with such grace and obedience. However, on this particular morning in our home, God wanted to put some emphasis on baby Jesus and his dad. Look at the photo and see how the light from the window above in our living room shone brightly on baby Jesus and Joseph only!

It all started with a little baby in a manger, named Jesus. One day, I accepted Jesus into my heart and life has never been the same. As we come upon the celebration of our Savior's birth, it is our prayer that you will reflect at your "re-birth" in Christ. Do you remember where you were? Do you remember what it was that drew you to Him? Do you remember how you felt after? We all need to remember when we became a "child of God."
